Well I’m at a bit of a loss for inspiration this week after arriving back from a warm winter break in Fiji to the strong icy winds that we have blowing here at the moment.  All I really want to do is snuggle up in bed with a good book!!  So following that thought I’ve decided to just go with the ‘lazy flow’ and share my e-books with you ….. in case you have the urge to snuggle up with a book too 🙂

A bit of bribery??

Yes…. that is right I’m going down the bribery route.  I could disguise it as a Christmas gift however I’m going for the honest approach albeit it tainted a little with my bribe 🙂 It is a good bribe though, one which provides you with a one stop read for different approaches to Natural Child health and Adult health.

You see I need reviews! I need reviews to get the word out there and I need reviews to assure all those people who have been downloading the sample of my book that it is worth paying for the rest of it.  That is where you come in my awesome supporters- hopefully, fingers crossed 🙂

For the next week (Monday 3oth November until Monday 7th December) I will be offering both my books for free.  FREE I say, FREE!!   I’m really proud of these two books and truly believe that they will be of great benefit to people which is why I want to spread the word.  The only way to do that in e-bookshops, it seems, is with reviews.

While Amazon  is the big player, it looks like they don’t allow free books without other purchases however feel free to review there while getting your FREE book else where.  If you love Amazon though and can’t  bear to shop elsewhere then you can get my books free when you are purchase a print book with them or have purchased one with them via their price match system.

Our connection with food

Lately I’ve been doing a bit more EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) reading and whenever I do it always brings up new questions about how I relate to the world around me.

The book I have been reading is Jessica Ortner’s ‘The Tappping Solution for Weight Loss and Body Confidence’.  It is a great book which talks about NOT how we can shift weight by dieting but about what our connect to food is and what beliefs we hold around food.  It encourages us to deal with and let go of all the negative emotions, thoughts, beliefs and connections we hold about our bodies, eating and food.  In doing so we begin to value ourselves and nourish our bodies accordingly.

It has made me take time to discover my own triggers to eating, my own limiting beliefs about what is acceptable, my own beliefs about my body and my own emotions which I ‘stuff’ down with food because they are too painful to feel.  Even the way I eat certain foods – standing for morning tea because I feel that I should be busy elsewhere rather than having a snack with the kids – or the times I feel like I need food have been created out of my emotions and beliefs.

While tapping along with the scripts she has provided I found myself remembering things which I thought were long since dealt with. Yet as I tapped and remembered the pain came and I made connections between my actions now and those events of years ago.  It is amazing what we store and how those stored emotions and events then dictate how we act in the present.

Tapping (EFT) never ceases to amaze me and never ceases to shift my thinking to a more positive and calm state of mind.

Ok, so I admit it! This is a bit of shameless promotion.  I can’t help it though, really :), it is just that I am so amazed that I actually, finally formatted one of my booklets into an e-book. Yes, a real, find-it-on-the-Internet e-book!

I was originally aiming at getting another e-course into an e-book but the procrastination was so strong and the weight of looking at it always sitting on my ‘to do’ list was so great that I decided to begin a little smaller.  So here is my first e-book offering folks –  ‘Creating a Vivacious You – a guide to weight loss and health.   You can now find it FREE on Smashwords, Paper Plus  and Barnes and Noble  . Hopefully it will be other places very soon.

I wrote  ‘Creating a Vivacious You – a guide to weight loss and health.   as a quick and easy read to remind us all that actually becoming healthy and losing weight (if you need to) doesn’t have to be a complicated or expensive thing.  In the past I have got caught up in the hype of ‘diet’ plans and/or ‘exercise’ plans only to realise that they are either very expensive or completely unrealistic to continue with long term.  Most can’t fit into a normal life easily which makes them even harder to stick to. The result for me, and I’m guessing many of you, was a spiral of lapses in the plan and continual guilt.

That is when I decided that I would get ‘back to basics’, listen to my body more and explore why I felt I had to change the way I looked in the first place and why I ate the items and amounts I did.  Feeling great doesn’t have to be complicated or cost lots of money. Becoming Healthy is available to us all which is why I wanted to share what I have learnt, used and continue to use along my journey of health.
